As a team of Kolab Studios, we are crafting an enterprise that focuses on developing Science-Informed Design solutions in collaboration with neuroscientists, healthcare practitioners, designers, and other experts; to shape positive environments for our clients. Our experience range from working with varying scale projects and diverse user groups, from neuro-typical to neuro-divergent group of people. We take particular interest in deriving solutions that create stimulation and decompression, to reduce stress and anxiety, increase productivity and enhance your overall well-being.
We look forward to affiliate with Institutions, Real Estate Developers, Government Bodies, AEC professionals and clients who prioritize 'happy and healthy' living.
We have an understanding that design has a strong influence on our cognition, emotion, and behavior. Through User-Centric Behavioral Analysis, Inclusive Design Principles, Sensory Considerations, Evidence-based Design Guidelines along with our detailed Methodology that tailors design concepts, we ensure that every aspect of the built environment would align seamlessly with the unique characteristics and challenges of each user group in focus. Applying insights from brain science to design built environments, we create buildings that enhance productivity, comfort, and overall satisfaction.
Thanks to the constant development in neuroscience and environmental psychology, we are now attentive to people’s psychological and physical well-being. We intervene science, for better health outcomes. Contact us today for your first consultation.
Method that involves data-driven insights to guide decision-making. By relying on validated studies and empirical evidence, it ensures that practices, particularly in fields like architecture, healthcare, and education, are grounded in proven strategies. This approach enhances the impact of decisions by aligning them with the best available research.
Focus on creating spaces that respond to human behavior, sensory needs, and environmental factors, ensuring that urban environments are more sustainable, accessible, and supportive of community life. By integrating scientific research, urban design becomes more adaptive, user-centered, and conducive to healthier, happier life.
Integrate research from fields like neuroscience, psychology, and environmental science to create spaces that enhance well-being, functionality, and comfort. By understanding how people respond to light, color, sound, and spatial configurations, this approach designs environments that support cognitive and emotional health.
Apply data-driven strategies, these projects consider human behavior, sustainability, and community needs, ensuring that redeveloped areas are healthier, more resilient, and responsive to their users. This approach transforms spaces into user-centered environments that promote social cohesion and long-term sustainability.
Architect | Design Consultant
Bachelor of Architecture, India | Master in Neuroscience Applied to Architectural Design, Italy
With over three years of professional experience, her diverse expertise spans international design, research, and project execution. Komal is passionate about creating user-specific designs through evidence-based guidelines, merging traditional knowledge with advancements in artificial intelligence and computer-generated environments
We consult across various sectors within architecture, interior design, and urban development. We dedicate our practice to participate in conscious design process, to further influence city development policies. Our main drivers towards each project are 'empathy' and 'resilience'. We care, and so do you!
I had the pleasure of collaborating with Komal on a project for the University of Silesia in Katowice, where we developed neuroscience-informed design guidelines for a new campus. Komal quickly demonstrated her intellect, adaptability, and ability to integrate scientific principles into practical design solutions aimed at promoting health and well-being in urban spaces.
Her contributions were invaluable—she brought fresh insights, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work. Komal is a proactive and collaborative team member, always eager to learn and contribute. I highly recommend her for future projects in neuroscience-informed architectural design.
During her time with us, Komal has given a valuable contribution to the development of the Mykolaiv Masterplan in Ukraine. A project that requires particular skills in the field of psychology and social sciences applied to urban design as the challenges posed was designing urban spaces that could help mitigate post-traumatic stress and hindering physical conditions of a population that has suffered prolonged endurance of a war conflict. It has been a pleasure to work with her.
I recommend Komal for her great research, curiosity and writing skills. She also demonstrates clarity and effectiveness in her communication. Her ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner makes her an asset to any project requiring strong written communication skills. She will certainly bring a unique perspective to any team.
Komal exhibited exceptional dedication, creativity, and a profound understanding of the interdisciplinary field that bridges neuroscience and architectural design. Her work exemplifies a rare combination of scientific rigor and human-centric design principles.
Komal is a curious, intelligent and passionate woman, capable of combining architecture with other disciplines. I met her as a student in the NAAD master's programme and had the opportunity to assist her in the realization of her final project. On this occasion she has managed to combine architecture and psychology in a creative and sensitive manner, showing an ability to search for the appropriate and complete answer to the problems that she is faced with.
One of Komals' most redeeming qualities is her ability to see the projects beyond the drawing board. Her keen interest in understanding and analyzing human behavior with respect to spatial design has always sparked curiosity within our work culture. She has a niche in research writing and represents creative thinking skills.
During the course of the first lockdown due to pandemic, she successfully assisted me on a research paper for INTACH Themed: Heritage and Well-being. Her responsibilities included conducting online research, and writing drafts for the research paper, and her research was thorough and comprehensive, and her writing was accurate. She worked very well independently, and was also team oriented and worked collaboratively to get the job done. I strongly recommend her for research and design.
